Oklahoma State football: Putnam North DE Jaleel Johnson commits to Cowboys

The Cowboys picked up a commitment from one of the top defensive ends in Oklahoma.

Putnam North's Jaleel Johnson announced his decision to join Oklahoma State with a tweet on Sunday afternoon.

A three-star recruit according to 247Sports, Johnson is expected to make a big impact in his final season at Putnam North. As a 6-foot-4 235-pound defensive end, Johnson helped lead Putnam North to an 8-3 record and a Class 6A-II state playoff appearance as a junior last season.

Johnson recorded 49 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, four sacks, three pass breakups and one forced fumble last season.

Two weeks after the Cowboys offered Johnson on June 8, the incoming high school senior made his decision to join Oklahoma State.
