PHS nine roll over Wesleyan Christian

 The Pawhuska High School baseball team picked up its third win of the young season Tuesday by defeating Wesleyan Christian School, 15-2.

The Huskies (3-3) will travel to Blackwell High School for a 4:30 p.m. Friday game.

Cade McNeil started on the mound for the Huskies. He went three innings, allowing four hits and one run. He struck out 2 and walked three. Braydon Wilson pitched the final two innings. He allowed two hits and one run. He struck out three and issued one base-on-balls.

The Huskies scored seven in the first inning, four in the third and four in the fourth.

Easton Kirk started the inning with a single. He stole second, and scored when Wesleyan Christian misplayed Cade McNeil’s infield grounder. McNeil reached third on a wild pitch and scored when Randsom Jones struck out swinging on a wild pitch. Jones ran to first, and was safe while McNeil crossed the plate.

Next, Braydon Wilson singled to second, advancing Jones to third. Jones scored on Hunter Reed’s single to center. Wilson moved to second. Courtesy runner William Walls went in for Reed. Wilson advanced to third and Walls to second on a wild pitch. Gabe Letzkus singled to center, plating Wilson and Walls. Ryan Jones struck out R.J. McCann hits a fly to left field which was misplayed. McCann reaches first and Letzkus goes to second on the error. Isaiah Walker hits a grounder which is misplayed for an error, which loaded the base paths.

Kirk comes up for his second at-bat in the inning and draws a walk, which scores Letzkus. McNeil flies out to center, but McCann tags up and scores. Walker and Kirk remain at first and second. Randsom Jones struck out to end the inning.

In the game, McNeil and Randsom Jones collecting three RBIs. Kirk and Letzkus had two RBIs. Kirk went 3 for 3 in the game. Randsom Jones and Kirk each had a triple. Kirk and Letzkus each stole a base.
