MIAMI — Pawhuska state champion Levi Youngwolfe went undefeated in a recent four-state wrestling competition hosted by Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.

Youngwolfe won the 30th match of his senior season at NEO’s third-annual “Battle of the Bad” — which featured top seniors from schools in northeast Oklahoma, as well as wrestlers for all-star squads representing southeast Kansas, northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri.

After being invited to fill the Oklahoma team’s slot at 126 pounds — the same weight at which he recently claimed Oklahoma’s Class 2A title (and finished as state runnerup the previous year) — Youngwolfe was relegated to platoon status by unexpected developments involving four-time state 6A champ Daton Fix.

Fix, who went undefeated during a stellar prep career at Sand Springs and has committed to wrestle collegiately for the national powerhouse Oklahoma State University Cowboys, weighed in for the NEO event at 126 pounds.
