PAWHUSKA CROSS COUNTRY: Tucker, Walker post top 20 finishes at Cross Country meet

Pawhuska High School runners Tristen Tucker and Aubrie Walker were top-20 finishers in Saturday’s Jeff Potter Memorial Cross Country meet at Bartlesville Mid-High.

Tucker placed 19th by completing the 5-kilometer course in 18 minutes, 40 seconds. He was the top finisher from a non-6A school in the varsity boys’ division. The PHS senior trailed runners from Bartlesville, Norman and Bishop Kelley, but was a full minute ahead of entries from Cleveland, Grove and other smaller-class teams.

Leading the Lady Huskies at the meet was Walker, a junior who finished in 20th place with a time of 25:35. Pawhuska’s Alexis Bighorse (33:13) was 32nd.

Other PHS boys’ results included: 61st Ryan Parks (22:07), 65th Daneal Parks (22:55) and 84th Hunter Hurd (26:14).

In the meet’s junior-high division, where entries ran 1,600 meters, Pawhuska’s Arianna Soliano placed 22nd (7:44) among the girls. In the boys’ division, local runner Dalton Hurd took 20th (6:36), Dallin Rishardson came across 32nd (7:13), A.J. Soliano (7:35) was 38th and Christopher Thorton (9:39) finished 63rd.

The next meet for Pawhuska’s cross-country squads is scheduled Saturday at Oilton. Local runners also will compete Thursday, Sept. 22, in the Cleveland Tigers CC Meet, which is to be run over a new Feyodi Park course two miles south of town.
