Jones earns Pitcher of the Week nod

Northeastern Junior College's 6-foot freshman lefthander Ryan Jones received the Region IX Pitcher of the Week nod for the week ending April 3, 2022, as he had a solid road outing against Luna Community College.

Northeastern Junior College is located in Sterling, Colorado. Jones is a graduate of Pawhuska High School, where he pitched and played first base for the Huskies.

During the week of March 28 through April 3, Northeastern played four conference games at Luna Community College in New Mexico. Jones became the first Plainsmen pitcher to receive the Region IX Pitcher of the Week award during the 2022 season.

During the Luna series, Jones pitched in the fourth game and picked up his second season win. In that game, Jones faced 18 batters during 5 shutout innings and only gave up three hits.  He struck out 6 batters and surrendered no walks or earned runs. Overall, Jones had a 4.19 ERA, 19.1 innings pitched and 17 strikeouts through April 3. He was 2-2 on the season.
