The 2019 Pawhuska Huskies football team tries Friday night to sew up a 10-0 regular season and a District A-5 title. The 9-0 Huskies play host to the 9-0 Pawnee Black Bears in a brawl for supremacy. Pawhuska is currently the district leader, with 83 district points. Pawnee has 78 points.

Pawhuska has allowed just 12 points in its last three games and the Huskies have scored fewer than 40 points just one time all season. Their narrowest victory was a 20-12 road win over Morrison in Week 4.

Pawhuska features a complex, diversified passing attack that has yielded more than 2,500 total yards and 30 touchdowns so far this season. Ten different receivers have caught touchdown passes. First-string quarterback Bryce Drummond leads the offense with more than 2,300 yards passing, 27 passing touchdowns, 623 yards rushing and 16 rushing touchdowns.

The Huskies have gained roughly twice as much yardage through the air as they have on the ground, but Pawhuska is quick to turn to the run if it sees the advantage. Overall, speed, quickness and depth are characteristics of the 2019 team. In their second year under Head Coach Matt Hennesy, the Huskies are typically agressive but not foolishly so.

The Friday night game at Pawhuska will also feature the selling of the Pink Out jerseys worn by the Huskies in their previous outing. The proceeds from the sale will go to a family battling against cancer.
