The Pawhuska High School baseball team Monday bounced back from a rough weekend at the Ripley Invitational by posting a 9-0 shutout win over Dewey. The win provided a needed lift for a PHS team that lost three games between Thursday and Saturday — 9-1 to Ripley; 11-6 to Amber-Pocasset; and 11-3 to Newkirk.

Huskies coach Chris Rumsey said starting pitcher Ransom Jones went all seven innings for a one-hit shutout in the home win Monday over Dewey. The team made some good plays behind Jones and Pawhuska turned in an impressive win.

Jones threw 88 pitches, 62 of them strikes. He struck out 15 and walked two.

PHS was scheduled for a rematch Tuesday afternoon against Newkirk, but on their home field this time. The Huskies are also scheduled for a Monday, April 1 home game versus Barnsdall.
