A young Pawhuska High School fast-pitch softball team has finished a hard-fought, but ultimately unsuccessful, season with a 4-19 record, according to the OSSAA.

The 2A Lady Huskies, under the direction of Coach Tara Malaske, frequently gave their opponents all they could handle, but finished seventh among the eight teams in their district and failed to make the playoffs.

Pawhuska finished ahead of Nowata, which ended up in the district cellar at 3-19. The Lady Huskies’ wins came against Caney Valley, Barnsdall and Hominy. The leading teams in the district were Pawnee, Oklahoma Union and Stroud.
