Construction continues on Pawhuska High School’s new training facility
Construction continues on the 9,000-square foot athletic facility/training center on the northeast side of Ormand Beach Memorial Stadium.
Monday, work crews were installing plumbing and tiling showers in the football lockeroom. The facility will serve as the center of football activities at the high school, but the weight-training facility will be available for all Pawhuska student athletes, football coach Joe Tillman said.
The weight-training facility is essentially complete. A few items like mirrors and some training equipment must be installed. The big items — like multi-station weight training equipment – are in place. However, the training room can’t be used until construction is completed, Tillman said.
PHS student-athletes continue their weight work in the current weight room.
Tillman said he wasn’t sure if the new athletic facility/training center would be completed in time for the football team to use it this season. The season starts Aug. 25.
