The second-annual Pawhuska Youth Football Camp will be held Saturday, beginning at 8:30 a.m., at Ormand Beach Memorial Stadium.

Sponsored by Big T Sports, the noncontact “elite” camp is for elementary-age youngsters in Kindergarten through sixth grade.

The camp will feature instruction from former star players at Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma, as well as numerous National Football League squads. The instruction is tailored for players, organizers said.

Former college and NFL coach Pat Jones will be guest speaker at the event. Jones was head coach at OSU from 1984-94 where his players included Hall of Fame running backs Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders.

Featured instructors are to include ex-OU Sooners quarterback Thomas Lott and Rusty Hilger, a former QB for Oklahoma State and several NFL teams. Also on the guest coaches list is Melvin Gilliam, who started for the OSU Cowboys in football as well as basketball.

Former collegiate and pro players Mark Moore, Terry Peters, Tony Peters, Lewis Blackwell and Mike Hudson are also expected to instruct the campers.

This is the second year for the Big T Camp, which is organized by Joe Tillman — the recently-named head football coach of the Pawhuska High School Huskies. The camp is scheduled to conclude at 3 p.m.

All camp attendees will receive lunch, a commemorative T-shirt, bag and water bottle, as well as a copy of Thomas Lott’s book, “Getting in the Game.”

Registration information can be found on the Big T Sports website: The cost per camper is $95.
