4-man scramble to benefit Lady Huskie softball

Mike ErwinJournal-Capital

Some rather unique rules are to be in effect at Pawhuska Country Club for an upcoming golf tournament that will benefit the PHS Lady Huskies Softball program.

The four-man scramble event is scheduled for Saturday, June 18. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and tee-off will be 30 minutes later. Entry fee is $50 per person, which covers the cost for 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch and chances to win one of several drawings for prizes.

All of the tourney’s contestants will be allowed to purchase two mulligans, as well as two “throws” and six “string” privileges for putts. In addition to all of that, there’s to be one hole where a Lady Huskie player is allowed catch the golfer’s chip shot and — for a reasonable donation, of course — will put it “legally” into the cup. Call her a DH, for “designated holer.”

Awards also are to be presented for the tournament’s longest drive and in a Chip ‘n Challenge competition.
