Pawhuska High School was expected to be represented Tuesday at the Oklahoma Track Coaches Association Meet of Champions at Moore High School.

Invited from the PHS Huskies was senior pole vaulter Bradley Moreland, who placed second at the recent Class 2A state meet. Among the Lady Huskie invitees: two-time state high jump champion Haley Mouser, who won the 2015 MOC after finishing third at the champions’ meet the two previous years. Mouser has not lost a high school high jumping competition in more than two years.

Mouser was also invited to the OTCA meet as one of the runners on the Lady Huskies’ 4x400 relay squad that posted a runnerup state finish. Other members of that unit include senior Sarah Phillippi, sophomore Kyleigh Riebel and freshman Kianna Taylor. Phillippi could also be competing in the meet’s 300-meter hurdles event, in which she finished third at state.

Last week, PHS track coach Mark Frye said additional local entries — including relay squads — could be invited.

The MOC meet was scheduled to start at 5 p.m. State champions and runner-ups from each class receive automatic invitations in each event. The event lanes are filled with the next four-best times, regardless of classification. Contestants are based on regional and state competition or otherwise selected by a games committee.

Custom medals are awarded to the honorary meet’s top six placers in each event.
