Big T youth football camp this Saturday

Former collegiate and professional players are expected to be on hand this Saturday for Big T’s Elite Youth Football Camp at Ormand Beach Memorial Stadium.

The one-day, non-contact camp for elementary-age (first-through-sixth grade) football prospects is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and will last until mid-afternoon, said Joe Tillman, a longtime local youth leagues’ coach who is hosting the first-ever event in conjunction with USA Football and Heads UP Coaching.

Tillman said the camp is designed to help young players learn football fundamentals and will stress safety. The camp coaching staff is expected to include former players from OU and OSU, plus some college-level coaches and former NFL stars.

Camp slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration cost is $85 per camper. Lunches will be provided for the campers, who also are to receive souvenirs of their camp experience.
