Former Pawhuska High School football players are preparing for a return to the gridiron later this summer.

Alumni Football USA will sponsor a full-contact game at Hominy on Saturday night, June 19. The matchup is to pit a volunteer squad of ex-Huskies against a team of former Bucks. Kickoff has been set for 7 p.m. at Hominy High School’s Memorial Stadium.

The contest is designed as a fundraising event, with the proceeds expected to benefit the Pawhuska and Hominy school districts. Alumni Football USA will share proceeds derived from all tickets sold prior to the game with the participating schools. In exchange for use of the field, Hominy also will get full concession and raffle rights on game night.

“Schools pay no money up front,” said the state director of Alumni Football USA, Bob Cazet. “In fact, the schools pay no money at all.”

With more than 25 years of experience in setting up alumni contests, the organization provides all needed equipment, uniforms and liability insurance, as well as game officials and other staff — including security and emergency personnel.
