Athletes 4 Athletes to host 2 runs, girls hoops tourney

Entries are being sought for the upcoming 5K and Fun Run organized to benefit Athletes 4 Athletes, a non-profit organization that raises money to support local Special Olympic Athletes.

The annual events will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, with starting and finish lines to be at Pawhuska Cultural Park in the 500 block of Lynn Avenue. In-person registration forms are available in all Pawhuska school offices and on-line registration can be made at: www.athletes4athletes13.evenbrite.com, organizers said.

Entry fee is $25 for the 5K Run, which is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. The One-Mile Fun Run will take off around 9:15 a.m. and costs $15.

The course used for the runs has been certified and the event will be timed by Tatur Racing, organizers added.

A day-long basketball tournament for high-school girls teams is also set for Nov. 9. Games will be played at Pawhuska High School’s Oren Terrill Field House.
