Jody Martin shares pasta shell recipe

Carla Core Brown

Have you ever noticed that at some point along life’s way, it seems parents and children sometimes exchange roles? I’m not certain when the role reversal occurs and perhaps for some, it doesn’t. However, one thing we all have in common is the desire to have the blessing of seeing our offspring leave the nest and soar!

Jody Martin is ecstatic to be the dad who learned something new and tasty from his oldest daughter, Blakelea. He happily shares her recipe for stuffed pasta shells.

Blakelea and Jody’s Stuffed Pasta Shells

Use the large shells, about the size of a baseball. Cook the shells until semi-soft. Fry a pound of hamburger, drain and stir in a small bottle of Zesty Italian Dressing. Cook until absorbed into the meat. Mix up cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, and mozzarella cheese, like the ones you use in lasagna. Spoon meat and cheese mixture into the shells. Place in a baking dish and cover with a quality spaghetti sauce (like Five Brothers Marinara with Burgundy sauce) and cover with more mozzarella. Bake at 350 degrees until the cheese on top is melted.

Now, how’s that for a little LOCAL FLAVOR!?
