Parent, teacher conferences continue

Parent/teacher conferences began Monday and continue through Thursday from 4-7 p.m. If you do not have a conference scheduled, please contact the office to do so.

Note that there is no school on Friday, Feb. 8.

The last home basketball game was Tuesday, which was also Senior Night. The high school team will travel to Carney on Friday, Feb. 8 for districts. The girls will play at 6:30 p.m. and the boys will play at 8 p.m.

The junior class is hosting a Valentine’s Dance on Saturday for junior high and high school students. The time is 7-10 p.m. The cost is $3 per person or $5 per couple. If a student is bringing a date from another school, they will need to complete a form for approval of their date. There will also be concessions available.

We are selling Blue and Gold for the spring. Orders and money are due in the office Feb. 13. Delivery will be the week of Feb. 25.

We are offering hoodies, long sleeve shirts, and T-shirts designed by D and S Designs from Wynona. Order forms will be sent home on Monday. Money and order forms are due Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Feb. 15, the seventh- through ninth-graders will travel to the National Weather Service in Tulsa for a tour and presentation. Permission slips will be sent home that week.

Note that there is no school on Feb. 18. Teachers will be engaged in professional development activities.

The annual spelling bee is Feb. 19 at 9 a.m. in the new gym for third through eighth-grade students. The two finalists will complete in the county spelling bee on March 6 in Hominy.

It is very important for students to practice reading and math skills at least 20 minutes a day. They and their teachers are working diligently everyday to increase their skills.

The third quarter attendance incentive is going to a pizza and bowling outing. In order to receive an invitation, a student cannot have more than one unexcused absence and no more than one tardy. The time frame is Jan. 14 through March 13.

Remember that every three tardies count as one absence. Breakfast is served from 8 - 8:20 a.m. Class begins at 8:30 a.m.
