HOMINY — The Drummond Home will be hosting a Vintage snack set exhibit for the month of August.

These glass ware sets were very popular during the 1930s up to the mid 60s. Women entertained at home or at their church with their lady friends. Snack sets were often given as wedding gifts.

They all came in a set of four and the plates had a small circle on the top to set your glass cup into. Some of the better known glass companies who made these sets were Anchor Hocking, Indiana Glass Company, Hazel Atlas and Federal Glass Company.

All these companies produced these snack sets with many different design and patterns with apple blossoms and Grapes being some of the more popular ones.

The exhibit will begin Aug. 1 and last the entire month.

The Drummond Home is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with tours being given between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the last tour beginning at 4 p.m. For more information, call (918) 885-2374.
