LIVESTOCK THEFT: Suspect arrested in Logan County
Special Ranger Bart Perrier of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association on Monday said authorities last week arrested a Sperry man on warrants from Logan and Osage counties in Oklahoma in connection with an ongoing investigation.
Perrier said the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture and the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association arrested a suspect identified as Cody J. Porter on a Logan County warrant relating to theft of livestock, and an Osage County warrant regarding knowingly concealing stolen property.
A review of online Osage County court records showed that a warrant was issued for a suspect identified as Cody Joseph Porter on suspicion of knowingly concealing stolen property.
A review of online court records also showed that Logan County prosecutors have charged a suspect identified as Cody Joseph Porter with larceny of the implements of husbandry, larceny of livestock, cruelty to animals, second-degree burglary, knowingly concealing stolen property and a pattern of offenses.
Oklahoma Department of Corrections records confirmed Perrier’s assertion that Porter has previous convictions. Those records show Porter, 32, has previously been convicted in Osage County of receiving, possessing or concealing stolen property, and in Johnston County of larceny of domestic animals.
Logan County court records show Porter had an initial hearing July 11, and his bail was set at $100,000.
