The American Therapeutic Riding Center, based in Sand Springs, is scheduled to hold a benefit rodeo Friday and Saturday evenings at the Clarence L. Brantley Indoor Arena, located at the Osage County Fairgrounds, just south of Pawhuska.

The event will be at 7:30 p.m. both Friday and Saturday. Admission will be $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and younger. Event tickets can be purchased on the event days at the arena.

Proceeds from the rodeo and associated activities will benefit the American Therapeutic Riding Center.

The performances will include: ATRC demonstration rides, bareback, tie-down calf roping, ranch and saddle bronc, ladies breakaway, steer roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding.

Each day of the event, there will be concessions, vendors, a silent auction and more. Concessions will be serving award-winning barbecue starting at 3:30 p.m. daily.

ATRC provides therapeutic horseback riding services to individuals with physical, cognitive and emotional challenges on a year-round basis. The organization currently serves 85-plus people on a weekly basis from eight counties. The ATRC also benefits, on average, from 5,000-plus hours of volunteer service per year.

The event is sanctioned by the American Cowboy Rodeo Association, the Cowboys Regional Rodeo Association and the Arkansas Rodeo Association.

This will be a benefit rodeo to raise money to help pay for the services that ATRC provides to special-needs individuals. It is not a rodeo competition among special needs persons.

ATRC is a P.A.T.H. Center Member (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) and a 501©3 non-profit organization; therefore, tax receipts are available for contributions.
