EVENING WITH THE AUTHOR
Pawhuska Public Library invites all residents to the book talk “An Evening with Author David Grann,” which will take place by live stream video in the library’s meeting room at 7 p.m. April 12.
Grann is the award-winning author of the book Killers of the Flower Moon, which explores the murders of members of the Osage Nation during the 1920s oil boom, corruption during the 1920s and the birth of the FBI. Grann will discuss his research and experiences in writing the book. Descendants of Osage Nation citizens named in the book will share the effect these events still have on their lives and families.
CANDIDATE FILING PERIOD STARTS
Statewide election activity begins officially at 8 a.m. April 11 when the official candidate filing period opens, Kelly Chouteau, secretary of the Osage County Election Board, said.
Candidates for state offices file with the Secretary of the State Election Board in Oklahoma City. Candidates for county offices file with the Secretary of the County Election Board.
Chouteau said that the following county offices will be filled this year:

COST SHARE ASSISTANCE
Osage County Conservation District is now accepting applications for the Cost Share Assistance Program. The practices include Brush Management, Serecia Lespedeza Spraying and or Mechanical Brush Removal. Applications are being taken now through April 27.
