Buchanan wins re-election, Brazee wins seat

Pawhuska Ward 3 City Councilor Mark Buchanan will retain his seat and newcomer Ward 4 City Council candidate John Brazee will join him without the need for a run-off election.

According to results from the Oklahoma State Election Board with all precincts reporting, Buchanan won over 69 percent of the vote to retain his seat. Challengers John Moreland garnered just over 17 percent of the vote and Chris Brown received just over 13 percent.

In the Ward 4 race, Brazee won over 51 percent of the vote, the results show. With all precincts reporting, Kyle Yount received 31 percent of the vote and Jamie S. Malone gained 17 percent of the vote.

The results were certified by the Osage County Election Board and the State Election Board on Friday. Below is the vote total for each office, according to the Election Board:

Pawhuska City Council Ward 3 (2 of 2 precincts reporting)

Mark Buchanan (i), 419 votes, 69.03 percent

John Moreland, 107 votes, 17.63 percent

Chris Brown, 81 votes, 13.34 percent

Pawhuska City Council Ward 4 (2 of 2 precincts reporting)

John Brazee, 313 votes, 51.65 percent

Kyle Yount, 189 votes, 31.19 percent

Jamie S. Malone, 104 votes, 17.16 percent
