Pawhuska High School’s new athletic complex is completed. An open house is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Friday prior to the Huskies’ final home game of the season against Chisholm, PHS Athletic Director Chris Walker said.

Those attending the open house will need to purchase tickets to the football game at the main entrance and proceed to the athletic complex, which is adjacent to the stadium, he said.

The funding for the athletic complex was donated by a Pawhuska family who prefers to remain anonymous. The complex includes coaches offices, locker rooms, shower facilities, a weight-training room, a start-of-the-art injury rehab area and restrooms.

“It’s phenomenal,” Walker said, adding it’s one of the nicest facilities in Class 2A.

The athletic complex is available to all PHS student-athletes, Walker said.

“We hope everyone attending the football game will tour the athletic complex,” he said.

The school district thanked Jackie Bruno, who helped select the weight-training equipment, Johnny Long, who served as general contractor, Garrett Construction, Farris Heating & Air, Gary Morrison Plumbing and Cornerstone Electric for their commitment to Pawhuska High School athletics, and their work on the complex, Walker said.

“I don’t have the words to properly thank all the people who donated funds or worked on this project,” he said. “Few schools have as nice a facility as we now have. I’m so grateful for all those who have donated time and money for our kids in school and those who will be here in the future.”

“Superintendent Janet Neufeld, High School Principal Lauri Lee and I invite everyone to the open house,” he said.
