Christmas Market Oklahoma will be celebrated from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 2 on the campus of First Lutheran Church and School, 1101 N. 4th, in Ponca City.

Christmas Market Oklahoma distinguishes itself in several ways. Music is the first way. Schoolchildren perform songs and dance, church choirs sing, and there are other special performances. The decorations are reminiscent of authentic German markets that dot that country from November through December.

The Ponca City market is a Yule wonderland of sights and smells of the season. Authentic German foods will be sold along with local favorites. A “cookie walk” of homemade Christmas cookies and other holiday goodies allows one to sample a wide range of the holiday season.

Unique gift items, hand-crafted art pieces, activities for children, pictures with Santa, plus much more, makes this event of interest to many shoppers and families. The music on the big city stage will be an all-day concert of choirs and performers from Northern Oklahoma.

All artists, musicians and crafters are invited to join this event. It features affordable vendor booths. This is a mission to fledgling artists as well as professional crafters and groups who are fund-raising. Booth fees/contributions for the event go to the scholarship fund at First Lutheran School.
