We have one more week left of the first quarter of the school year! It is hard to believe!! The last day to turn grades in is Friday.

JOM Meeting was Monday at 6 p.m. The monthly October board meeting was at 7.

The students that sold Blue and Gold items will participate in a pizza, drink, and movie party on Wednesday. We had such an outstanding amount of student participation, we will be having the party in the old gym beginning at 11 a.m.. THANK YOU to all of those students that sold to help the school.

Friday, pre-k through eighth-grade students will travel to the Oklahoma Jenks Aquarium. We will leave the school at 8:30 a.m. and return by 3:30 p.m. Students will need to bring a sack lunch with them. The cost to our students are free due to a grant we received. Permission slips were sent home today. Additional guests may attend the trip with us for $10. We will need to know in advance if you are planning to attend with your child. Unfortunately, you will need to drive.

The week of October 9-13 is Fire Prevention Week. Look in your child’s bag for a flyer discussing a contest presented by KanOkla.

Monday, October 16 begins Fall Break. There will be no school all week from October 16-20.

Red Ribbon Week is the week we return from Fall Break. More information will be sent out next week.

Our annual Fall Carnival will be held on Friday, October 27 from 6-8 p.m. Make plans now to attend. We will also be asking for donated cakes for the Cake Walk. We look forward to seeing you there!

Trick or Treating in Wynona will be set for Halloween, October 31st from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Those handing out treats should leave their porch lights on for all the ghosts and goblins! Speed limit in Wynona on all streets will be 25 mph.

Della Carter is heading up a campaign to get flags for the poles on the side of the road in Wynona. She has been making and selling pies with the profits going to buy flag sets to hang on the poles. She is also accepting donations for anyone who wants to donate. This is a great cause and we all love and appreciate Della for loving our town enough to want the best for us with the United States flags. The flag sets are about $30 each and anyone who would like to donate for the flags can contact Wynona Town Hall.
