WYNONA SCHOOL NEWS

(Submitted by Supt. Shelly Shulanberger)

Fall pictures will be Friday, August 25. Retakes and group pictures will be in November.

I would like to THANK Kanokla Networks for the school supply donations! Once again, we are such a blessed school to have so many supporters!

Any students in grades 4-12 that are interested in participating in archery can complete a permission slip. These are available in Mrs. Lorrie’s office. This is an awesome sport for our students. They will participate in tournaments throughout the school year.

The elementary classes constructed a pinhole viewing device to watch the eclipse on Monday, August 21. This will be an awesome experience!

Blue and Gold orders and payments are due in the office on Aug. 23. Delivery will be the week of Sept. 5-8. If you would like to purchase some goodies, contact the office at 918-846-2467.

Grandparent’s Day will be on Sept. 8. As always, we will serve a delicious lunch provided for free by the Wynona PTO.

The annual Scholastic Book Fair will begin on Sept. 7 and end Sept. 14.

Make it a great weekend!!

The Wynona Board of Trustees August meeting was held on Aug. 15. The Board conducted regular business, and then they opened bids on the 1999 Ford Police Cruiser. They also voted to have the old well houses down and build new ones because the old ones are falling down. Chris McCullough will be building the well houses. Attending the meeting: Donna Swanner, Hailey Towell, Loretta Little, Goober Robinson, Della Carter, Johnnie Jo Lott, Janet Delaney and Tennie Slone.

TRASH NEWS

The rule for the trash pickup in Wynona is that the trash has to be bagged. People are starting to just put loose trash in the polycarts and the trash truck crew will not pick it up. Polycarts should also be secured so that animals can not tip them over causing trash to blow everywhere. Thanks for helping out with this!
