WYNONA SCHOOL NEWS

(Submitted by Supt. Shelly Shulanberger)

WHEW! The first week of school flew by! It was a great week, teachers and kids were both excited and had a great time!

I would like to recognize Big Country Pawn and Supply (The Bucking Flamingo) for the elementary school desks, Wynona Assembly of God Church for the school supplies, and Dick Conner Correctional Center for the donation to purchase school supplies for our students and teachers. We have had an outstanding amount of donations and participation from our community and surrounding communities in providing a relief of a financial burden to our parents and students. We cannot say THANK YOU enough to everyone that provided our students with school supplies.

Monday, we had a positive behavior assembly in the new gym.

Wednesday, Aug. 16, Prevent Blindness will be conducting vision screenings. If your child fails the screening, you will receive a letter in the mail with the results. Please follow up with an optometrist.

Students attending TCC concurrent classes will attend orientation on Wednesday, August 16 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in Tulsa.

Classes begin on Aug. 21.

Fall pictures will be Friday, August 25. Retakes will be in November.

The softball teams had a busy week! They played three home games. Monday, Aug. 14, the high school girls left at noon to travel to Blue Jacket. The high school team will travel to Kellyville Friday, Aug. 18-19 to participate in a softball festival. We wish them luck!

Please remember on home games to park in the high school parking lot. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Senior citizens (65 and older) are free!
