For the 13th consecutive year, free school supplies will be offered to students enrolled in Pawhuska schools. “This program is made available to all Pawhuska students,” Co-chairperson Sherry Williams said.

Supplies will be pre-assembled according to grade. Distribution will be held at the Methodist Church’s Family Life Center, 621 Leahy in Pawhuska. Distribution dates and time will be announced later.

The free school supply program is a citywide project sponsored by the Pawhuska First United Methodist Church. Williams complimented the generosity of area churches, businesses, banks, civic clubs and individuals for the ongoing success of this project.

“For two consecutive years, growing community support has expanded this mission program to provide free school supplies to more than 400 Pawhuska children,” said Williams. “This is considerable considering 13 years ago when the program was first initiated, we were able to provide school supplies for 100 students.”

Donations of money and supplies are being accepted, and may be dropped off at the Methodist Church office, 621 Leahy, weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Williams and Linda Boone have been co-chairs since the project’s inception. For more information, please contact Williams at (918) 287-3438 or Linda Boone at (918) 287-3711.
