Church to host VBS
Osage Indian Baptist Church will host Vacation Bible School for ages 4 years old to sixth grade. There will be a fun day with food and games from 6-8 p.m. June 18. VBS will continue from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 19-21. Lunch will be provided.

The Pawhuska Elk’s Lodge will have its monthly steak night from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Hamburgers, hamburger steaks and shrimp dinners are also available.
Reading is fun!
The Pawhuska Public Library summer reading program is underway. Sessions are from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday in the library The last session will be July 13.
The first session, which was June 8, featured pirates, stories and activities. Presenting were Key Club volunteer Andrew Williams; Maddy Blankinship with the Osage Nation work study program; Yvonne Rose, library director; and Lu King, staff. The program is targeted for kindergarten through fifth grades, but all ages are welcome. Younger children may want to attend for a shorter period of time, which is quite acceptable.
The Osage Nation Museum will hold a book reading and panel discussion with Dr. Michael Snyder, who wrote “John Joseph Mathews: Life of an Osage Writer” from 5-7 p.m. June 21. Panelist will include Dr. Garrick Bailey, Russ Tall Chief and Harvey Payne. The event is free and open to the public.
The 2017 farmers market vouchers will be issued soon at several locations.
WIC vouchers will be issued at the Osage Nation WIC Clinic from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, until funds are depleted, at 1301 Grandview Ave. in Pawhuska. Vouchers also will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 12, 13 and 19 at 519 Maplewood Lane in Skiatook, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 14 and 12 at 303 E. Main St. in Hominy, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 15 and 22 at 64560 US Hwy 60 in McCord, and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 15 and July 6 at 261 N. Main St. in Fairfax.
Senior’s vouchers will be issued from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (beginning June 12 until funds are depleted) via the Elder Nutrition Program at the Title VI Building, 350 Senior Drive in Pawhuska. Vouchers will also be available from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 12 and 13 at Osage Nation WIC Clinic in Skiatook, June 14 at Osage Nation WIC Clinic in Hominy, June 15 at Osage Nation WIC Clinic in Fairfax, June 19 at Wynona City Hall, and June 20 at Barnsdall Community Center.
