Clement named Teacher of the Year

Sarah Clement, a second-grade teacher at Indian Camp Elementary School, is the Pawhuska School District’s 2016-17 Teacher of the Year.
Announcment of the special honor was made at the February meeting of the Pawhuska Board of Education.
Clement has been a teacher for eight years, but this is only her second year in Pawhuska. She received an associate’s degree at Howard College and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Wayland Baptist University in Lubbock, Texas.
The teacher of the year lists her hobbies as running, singing and playing basketball. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Clement enjoys reading.
In January, Clement was selected as one of the district’s Honor Teachers for the 2016-17 school year. Also named as Honor Teachers were Pawhuska Elementary math teacher Jan Yang and Carol Kelley, a longtime special educator at Pawhuska High School.
