Pawhuska Community Foundation recently announced it is making up to $25,000 in grant opportunities available to nonprofit organizations which provide local programs and services.

Applications forms for the grants can be found online at www.pawhuskacommunityfoundation.org. The deadline for applying is March 31, foundation officials said.

“These grants help to jump start, strengthen and sustain the economic base, environment and quality of life in our area,” PCF Board President Chad Renfro said.

Renfro encouraged all qualifying organizations to submit grant proposals.

“We look forward to your applications and working together to help bring your projects to fruition,” Renfro said.

According to its mission statement, PCF “seeks to make a positive difference in the future of Pawhuska.” Since 1993, the local Foundation has been hard at work pursuing this mission through support and funding of local community projects like the Ben Johnson Memorial Project, National Indian Taco Championship and Skate Board Park.

In 2009, the local group became an affiliate of Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF). The tactical partnership has allowed the Pawhuska organization to invest more of its resources into the community and spend less on administrative and operational costs, officials said. More information about PCF can be found by visiting its website.

One of the largest community foundations in the United States, TCF is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization that assists nonprofits, corporations, individuals and families with flexible charitable giving solutions. Through the creation of charitable funds, the Tulsa Foundation helps donors accomplish their individual philanthropic goals.
