The holiday season is a busy time at Christ’s Cupboard.

This year, due to increases in utility bills, unemployment, etc., many people turned to Christ’s Cupboard for assistance with obtaining their groceries.

In an effort to help restock the shelves at Christ’s Cupboard, Indian Camp Elementary scheduled a food drive — called “We Can.” It was held through Dec. 14.

The school staff challenged each classroom to collect canned-food donations for needy families in the community. It turrned into a wonderful service project — one which all of the school children enjoyed.

“We would like to thank everyone who sent canned goods to the school and all of the children who brought the donations to their classrooms,” Indian Camp Elementary’ first-grade teacher Sharon Hendren said.

The classroom donating the most cans received a pizza party.
