This year’s parade theme of a classic Christmas drew a vast array of colorful entries and was led by longtime Pawhuska icon Sally Carroll. Cody and Lauren Garnett serves as emcees. The annual Christmas parade is coordinated by the Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce. Corporate sponsor was Tri-County Technology Center, which provided the prize money.

As announced in last week’s paper, The Osage Nation Office of the Chief’s float won first place in the Saturday’s Parade of Lights Profit Division. Second place for Profit Division went to the Pawhuska City Parks and Cemetery crew. The Pawhuska City Council rounded up the top Profit Division wins by coming in third.

Nonprofit first place went to the Giovanie Soliano family for their Santa’s sleigh and reindeer float followed by the Osage County 4-H youth who garnered second.

After the festive parade, the Historic Constantine Center invited patrons to a showing of the Christmas classic, “Prancer.” Activities prevailed throughout the day with a craft extravaganza and open houses, including visits with Santa.
