The first 9 weeks of school is officially over! Report cards will go home on Thursday, October 27. It’s shocking we are already one fourth of the way through the school year. The second 9 weeks will begin on Monday, October 23.

Enjoy this time with your kids and make lots of fun memories!

The week of Monday, October 24 - Friday, October 28 is Red Ribbon Week.

Monday - ” I mustache you not to do drugs!” Come to school with a mustache and wear red clothes.

Tuesday - “Don’t get mixed up with drugs!” - Wear your clothes backwards and mixed up.

Wednesday - “Band together against drugs!” - Dress like a Rock Star

Thursday - “My future is bright, no drugs in sight!” - Wear Neon right colors.

Friday - “Real heroes don’t do drugs!” - Dress as a superhero!

The annual Fall Carnival will be on Friday, October 28 from 6-8 p.m. Most of the activities will be in the new gym. Bingo and the concession stand will be in the cafeteria.

Monday, October 31 the elementary students will have their “Fall Party.” The teachers will be sending home notes. Also, at 9:00 a.m. Captain Vallentino (retired Harlem Globetrotter player) will be presenting an assembly to all students in the new gym.

Archery practice will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 29 in the old gym. It will begin at 3:45 and end at 4:45. The students participating in archery will be performing in archery tournaments later in the school year. This activity is open to all students in third grade and above. Permission slips have been sent home, if you did not receive one, please contact the office for more information. The school has all supplies that are needed for this activity. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn new skills!

The athletic department will host an “Indian Taco/Bingo/Auction on Friday, November 4 beginning at 6:00. Please make plans to attend this exciting event. It will begin at 6:00 and end at 9:00. This is a fundraiser for our basketball, softball, baseball, and cheer teams to earn money to pay for officials and any necessary equipment or other supplies. Make plans now to support our athletes.

Jostens will be at school on Monday, November 7 to discuss class rings and senior announcements. This day is informational only. They will return on Friday, November 11 to accept order forms and deposits. You can also order online.

It is almost time for trick or treat in Wynona. Make plans now for Monday, Oct. 31, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The kids will be out in full force, so drivers are reminded to only drive 15 mph through the residential areas and only 25 mph on the Highway. Let’s make it a fun night for all the kids!

Once again, people are asked to keep their dogs penned or on a leash, as there have been many complaints about dogs being out, tearing up people’s trash, littering yards, etc. Wynona residents are reminded that there is a leash law in effect and dogs are not allowed to run at large!
