Sally Carroll, who owned Sally’s Sandwich Shop in Pawhuska, will celebrate her 100th birthday with a cake and ice cream reception at the Community Center. The come-and-go reception is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.
Sally’s Sandwich Shop, at 614 Kihekah Ave., served Pawhuskans for 65 years prior to her retirement.
STATE QUESTION FORUM
There will be a nonpartisan state question forum from 7-8 p.m. Oct. 25 at First Baptist Church, 825 W. Rogers in Skiatook. Each question will be presented along with the projected impact if passed.
TO BE HELD SATURDAY
The annual dinner-and-auction fundraiser for Helpworks, Inc., is set for Saturday night at the Pawhuska Elks Lodge.
Music begins at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m., with the auction starting around 7 p.m.
Price for the dinner is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Many items have been donated for the auction. Participating in the auction is free and everyone is encouraged to place bids.
Tickets will be sold in a drawing for queen-sized quilt made by Jody Bracken.
Some $2,400 in prize money will be involved in a scavenger hunt to be held as part of this weekend’s “Arts Adventure in the Osage.”
First place is worth $500 for the “Finding Pawhuska” and “Sidewalk Art Contest.” Two $200 prizes are available in the Plein Air Art Contest.
It’s all free to enter in Historic Downtown Pawhuska. Osage Casinos is helping sponsor the events.

PONCA EXHIBIT OPENS
Osage Nation Museum held the opening reception for its “Carl Ponca: A Retrospective” exhibit on Saturday.

Pawhuska singer/guitarist Curtis Moore is scheduled for a concert Saturday night, beginning at 9 p.m. at Whiskey River Saloon, 512 W. Main.
OUTDOOR MOVIE SET
Osage Nation Museum will host a free outdoor movie Friday night.
The free showing of “A Night at the Museum,” featuring Ben Stiller, will be part of this weekend’s Arts Adventure in the Osage event.
The movie starts at 8 p.m. Those attending should bring chairs and blankets. Osage Casinos is helping sponsor the event.

The Mikey Lynn Memorial Fundraiser is to be held Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Lodge at Taylor Ranch, located five miles south of Pawhuska on Highway 99.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. for the Mikey Mile Fun Run and the 5K Cross Country Run.

HALLOWEEN PLANS SET
Downtown Pawhuska businesses will be hosting a Halloween Trick or Treat on Monday, Oct. 31. Participating merchants will be handing out candy to children dressed in Halloween costumes between 5-6 p.m.
Pawhuska Elks Lodge will hold its annual Halloween Inc. from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27.
