Misty Farber

Week of June 30-July 6

I hope everyone has enjoyed the predicted weather of 80 degrees, providing relief from the hot days of summer.

The Osage Nation is hosting an ACT/SAT Test Prep class for all Osage and JOM students free of charge on Wednesday, July 14. Students will choose to attend one session, online or in-person. The in-person session is from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and lunch will be provided. The online session is from 1 to 3 p.m.

All students in grades 6 to 12 are invited to attend, and door prizes will be given to participants. Students will participate in a practice test, learn about financial literacy and receive a free lunch. If you are interested in attending, please register by calling 918-287-5300 or email education@osagenation-nsn.gov. Space is limited, so register today.

The Barnsdall City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, for its regularly scheduled monthly meeting. City Council meetings are held at City Hall unless otherwise noted.

The American Legion will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 8, for its regularly scheduled monthly meeting. American Legion meetings are held downtown at the American Legion Building.

The Barnsdall Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon Tuesday, July 13. The monthly meeting will be at the Barnsdall Community Center with a lunch served for $5. State Rep. Judd Strom is on the agenda to provide remarks. The Chamber meeting begins at noon.

Get ready because Camp Woolaroc is back this summer, with two camps scheduled in July. For ages 6 to 11, the first camp is planned for three days, starting on Tuesday, July 20. For ages 9 to 11, the second camp is scheduled for three days, beginning on Tuesday, July 27.
