Make your appointment now to give blood June 28
Week of June 2-8
It’s hard to believe that Big Heart day is over, and the Chamber of Commerce will soon be planning for next year’s event. I hope everyone was able to enjoy the 68th Big Heart Day and all the activities that were scheduled. Many individuals make this event happen, and we certainly appreciate their work.
Claud Rosendale, president of the Barnsdall Chamber, deserves special recognition for his work to make this event bigger and better than the last. Claud organizes and coordinates the many scheduled events of the day; he also sweeps the streets and sidewalks and fills in holes on Main Street to ensure everything looks perfect. We appreciate all you do, Claud!
Although there are not many events this week, there is time to schedule an appointment to give blood at the community blood drive on Monday, June 28. The blood drive will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the high school gym. If you would like to schedule an appointment, you may do so now at www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/donation-time or call 1-800-733-2767.
To save time at the donation drive, you can submit your pre-donation reading and health history by completing the Rapid Pass online. RapidPass can reduce the time of donors by up to 15 minutes. To complete a RapidPass, go to redcrossblood.org/rapidpass. T-shirts and refreshments are provided to all donors.
Barnsdall Public Schools will have a school board meeting at 7 p.m. Monday. All board meetings are held at the Elementary School Teacher Workroom unless otherwise noted. An agenda will be posted on the school website before the scheduled meeting.
The Barnsdall Chamber of Commerce meeting is scheduled for noon Tuesday. The meeting will be at the Barnsdall Community Center with a special guest, Sen. Bill Coleman. A full agenda will be emailed to all Chamber members later this week.
