The Barnsdall Chamber of Commerce held its monthly meeting May 11, with the discussion centered around the annual Bigheart Day activities. The chamber has secured four T.N. Barnsdall descendants to be in the parade. The chamber also announced that James BigHeart's great-great-great-granddaughter, Patricia Bright, is planning a reunion for next year's 2022 celebration of Bigheart Day.

Congratulations to Jason and Brenda Byers, who will be this year's Bigheart Day Parade marshals. This announcement was made at the chamber meeting after a unanimous vote.

The chamber reported the historic signs had been completed and would be installed at specific locations around town soon.

Next month's chamber meeting will be June 8, and Sen. Bill Coleman is scheduled to attend to give an update on the 2021 state legislative session.
