Free dump day slated for April 24

Week of April 14-20

The Barnsdall Chamber of Commerce emailed the monthly agenda to its members last week with lots of new and old business items to discuss at the meeting this week. More information on the meeting will follow in next week's column. 

Barnsdall Citizens Inc. will be hosting a 50 Plus event of food and games on Thursday, April 15. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be held at the Barnsdall Community Center.  

The Barnsdall High School Lady Panthers are finishing up their slow-pitch softball season this week, as they play their final scheduled games. The team will participate in a two-day tournament beginning on Thursday, April 15, and concluding with the championship game on Friday, April 16. The team will then host Chelsea for its last game of the season at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 20. Good luck, Lady Panthers. 

The high school baseball team will be home this week, as it hosts two games and prepares for the district tournament. The Panthers will host the Caney Valley Trojans on Thursday, April 15, and the Copan Hornets on Tuesday, April 20. All baseball games begin at 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted. 

The high school track team will participate in two meets this week, as it edges closer to conference and regionals. The team will travel to Chelsea on Thursday, April 15, and Vinita on Tuesday, April 20. Both track meets start at 10 a.m.

It's that time of year to begin spring cleaning and take advantage of the annual free Countywide Dump Day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 24 at the County Barn in Barnsdall. For questions about the county free dump day, please call 1-800-259-1570.
