Associate District Judge candidates to be interviewed
The Oklahoma Judicial Nominating Commission is scheduled to interview candidates Feb. 9 for the open Associate District Judge position in Osage County.
The post is vacant because Judge Stuart Tate moved up to the position of District Judge after Gov. Kevin Stitt named Judge M. John Kane IV to the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
According to the Judicial Nominating Commission, there are eight candidates for the open position of Associate District Judge for Osage County. The candidates, as listed alphabetically by the nominating commission, are:
• Linda M. Branstetter, Nowata;
• Julie R. Bushyhead, Sperry;
• Brant M. Elmore, Norman;
• Burl O. Estes, II, Bartlesville;
• Perry W. Newman, Broken Arrow;
• Alan J. Oxford, Tulsa;
• Brinton Skalnik, Skiatook;
• Walter L. Stout, Newkirk.
Immediately following the interviews, the Judicial Nominating Commission will provide Stitt a list of three nominees, and the governor will have 60 days to make the appointment from those three nominees.
