Osage Nation has computers to distribute
Week of Jan 13-19
Barnsdall students will enjoy a three-day weekend, as they are out of school on Monday, Jan. 18, while teachers participate in a day of professional development. The students will also participate in their first virtual day of the semester on Friday, Jan. 15. The next virtual Friday for the students will be on Jan. 29.
The Osage Nation Education Department has refurbished desktop computers to give away to Osage students. Students interested in receiving a computer must live in Osage County, complete an online application and meet specific guidelines.
If you are interested in receiving a free desktop computer, fill out the online application located on the Osage Nation Education Facebook page. Computers are limited in number and will be provided to students on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact Lauren Redeagle at 918-287-9791 for more information or to obtain an application.
Basketball season is well underway for the Panthers and Lady Panthers, as they begin a busy week of traveling on the road to two games and hosting one. The Panthers will travel to Hominy on Friday, Jan. 15, to play the Bucks for the first time this season.
Both boys and girls basketball teams were scheduled to play in the Caney Valley Tournament all week, but unfortunately, the tournament has been canceled this year. As a reminder, all high school game activities start at 6:30 p.m. with the girls game.
The junior high and high school wrestling teams are participating in the Catoosa tournament this weekend, starting Friday, Jan. 15. The teams will then travel north to Pawhuska for a dual at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.
