Church service information
Presbyterian Disciples Church, located on the corner of Grandview Avenue and 12th Street, has suspended in person worship services and bible study through April 5. Our church leadership will revisit this matter in early April to determine if we can begin to worship together again for Easter Sunday.
Our membership truly takes the attitude that the church is NOT the building but the people! During this time of physical distancing, our staff is providing members with resources for online church sermons, bible studies, and children’s activities. Our email lists, text lists, Facebook, and church website offer information for our membership so that they can maintain connection. Zoom video meetings with small groups also facilitate these connections. Our staff is currently maintaining office hours (at our physical location as well as through email and telephone) so that members and public may make contact.
Presbyterian Disciples Church staff continues to be the point of service entry for Ministerial Alliance, which supports financial hardship needs, Christ’s Cupboard, Children’s Backpack Program, Mobile Food Pantry, etc. Individuals who find that they are in need of services may still access these services but with physical distancing and hygiene procedures.
EDITOR’S NOTE: All churches in the Journal-Capital’s readership area are welcome to contribute to what is intended to grow into a listing of available church services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
