Thanksgiving Break begins this Friday
A well-deserved congratulations goes out to the Barnsdall High School Cheerleaders for winning the OSSAA Academic Achievement Award at their Game Day competition. The cheerleaders competed in the Game Day event in Oklahoma City and came away with one of the highest honors. We are proud of all of the work they put into their academics to achieve this honor. Congratulations, girls!
The Barnsdall High School football team won its first playoff game on Friday against the Commerce Tigers with an outstanding score of 33-7. The football team will now travel to Gore for the second round of the playoffs on Friday, Nov. 22. Come out and support the team as they try to claim another victory and edge closer to the state title. Go, Panthers!
The Barnsdall Chamber of Commerce reported it has 36 business members and 19 individual memberships at the last meeting. The Chamber kicked off its membership drive campaign in October and would love to add to its membership list and recruit new members. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact the Barnsdall Chamber at 918-847-2202. The cost of membership is $50 for business owners and $15 for individuals. The chamber is such an important part of our town and we are so blessed for all it does.
Bigheart Day is six months away and the planning will soon begin. If you are interested in planning this town’s biggest event of the year, please contact Claud Rosendale and let him know what days of the month work best for you to meet. The Barnsdall High School boys and girls basketball teams have had many scrimmages this past month gearing up for their first official games of the season. The basketball teams will travel to Shidler for away games on Nov. 26. Junior High basketball is beginning as well.
Thursday, Nov. 21 is the last day of school for Barnsdall students as they begin their week long Thanksgiving Break. Classes will resume on Monday, Dec. 2.
