Meeting scheduled Thursday
As of Tuesday, the next Pawhuska City Council meeting to discuss hiring a new city manager was slated for 5 p.m., May 23.
The council has interviewed several candidates for the position.
The council was scheduled to meet last Friday, May 17, but canceled that meeting. The cancellation message went out to councilors on Thursday, May 16, City Clerk Barbara Smith said.
The Pawhuska Journal-Capital attempted Tuesday morning to reach both Smith and City Attorney John Heskett to try to confirm that the 5 p.m. Thursday meeting was still on. Neither could be reached initially, but a representative of Heskett’s law firm checked with the city attorney and told the Journal-Capital that Heskett’s understanding was the meeting was still scheduled for Thursday.
Ward 2 Councilor Jourdan Foran also said that as far as she knew the meeting was still scheduled Thursday.
