Helena Christina Jones, 45, has pleaded no contest in a Hominy murder case dating back to January 2017 and is scheduled to be sentenced June 10 in Osage County District Court. Judge John Kane concluded she was competent, accepted her plea and found her guilty.
District Attorney Mike Fisher said the prosecution’s offer in return for Jones’ plea was life in prison with the chance of parole.
Jones is the mother of Abel Horton, 25, who pleaded guilty earlier this year in the same case and received a sentence of life without parole. Horton and Jones were prosecuted in connection with the beating death of Eric Hartung, 25, of Perry.
