Osage County deputies late last week and early this week were seeking information from the public that might help with their investigation of the death of a Skiatook-area man.

According to a statement released by Sheriff Eddie Virden, deputies responded about 2:23 p.m. May 1 to the 17000 block of Ranchland Road, after a family member of the deceased reported finding him on the floor of his residence, unresponsive.

The deceased, a 51-year-old man, was identified as Tracy Daniel Thomason, whose body was sent to the medical examiner’s office. The statement released by the Sheriff’s Office said no cause of death had been officially determined, but foul play had not been ruled out.

“Preliminary investigation leads us to believe that robbery is the potential motive,” the SO’s statement says. “We are currently investigating leads in the case and have identified some persons of interest.”

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Osage County Sheriff’s Office at 918-287-3131. Callers can remain anonymous.
