The Federal Bureau of Investigation said Monday that no one had yet been arrested in a murder investigation stemming from a shooting death Thursday evening on Osage Nation trust land in the Wynona area.

An FBI spokeswoman in the Bureau’s Oklahoma City office said the public is being encouraged to share information with investigators regarding the killing. The number to call if you have information to share with the FBI is 405-290-7770.

Osage County Sheriff Eddie Virden said his department received a call about the shooting and responded. When the Sheriff’s Office realized the shooting had taken place on Osage trust land, it promptly turned the matter over to the Osage Nation police, Virden said. The Osage Nation police, in turn, called on federal authorities.

The shooting victim has only been identified to this point as an adult male. FBI spokeswoman Andrea Anderson said the identity of the victim was not being released.
