The Osage County Sheriff’s Office is seeking witnesses and tips regarding a child abuse case that the sheriff’s office has been investigating in Avant.

Investigator Bill Gee said that Avant police passed the case to the Osage County Sheriff’s Office in early June. The case involved facial injuries received by a 3-year-old boy, Gee said. The child’s grandmother reported the injuries to authorities after picking the boy up from a residence in Avant, he said.

“We are going to need some people to come forward before we can pursue it to an end,” Gee said.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered through Bartlesville/Washington County Crime Stoppers for information about the abuse case leading to an arrest, he said.

The phone number to use in making a report is (918) 336-CLUE, Gee said.
