Summer reading program roars Friday

The Pawhuska Public Library’s Summer Reading program continues from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, with “ROARchestra,” a program offering prepared by the Oklahoma City Zoo.

Librarian Yvonne Rose said the OKC Zoo will be bringing at least three animals to the Pawhuska Library for the program. The theme for the morning will be the sounds that animals make. The overall theme for Summer Reading 2018 is music and sound.

Rose said a group of about 20 youth participated in the Summer Reading offering for July 6, which dealt with how people created sound effects for radio programs.

ELKS LODGE

Steak night scheduled Friday

The Pawhuska Elks Lodge will have a steak night from 6-8 p.m. Friday. We will serve 10 ounce and 12 ounce ribeyes, hamburgers and hamburger steaks, shrimp dinners, baked potatoes, french fries, rolls and dessert.
