WYNONA SCHOOL NEWS
(Submitted by Supt. Shelly Shulanberger)
Fall break began Monday. There will be NO SCHOOL all week from October 16-20.
Red Ribbon Week is the week we return from Fall break. More information will be sent out next week.
Our annual Fall Carnival will be held from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 27. Make plans now to attend. We will also be asking for donated cakes for the Cake Walk. We look forward to seeing you there!
The rule for the trash pickup in Wynona is that the trash has to be bagged. This is not a new rule, it has been in effect all along. People are starting to just put loose trash in the polycarts and the trash truck crew will not pick it up. Polycarts should also be secured so that animals cannot tip them over causing trash to blow everywhere. Thanks for helping out with this!
DOGS TO BE ON A LEASH OR IN A PEN
The Wynona leash law states that dogs are to be kept on a leash or in a pen in the owner’s yard. People are out walking for exercise or just trying to go out in their own yards and there are loose dogs out. The officers will be issuing citations for these at large dogs.
TRICK OR TREAT
Trick or Treating in Wynona will be set for Halloween from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 31. Those handing out treats should leave their porch lights on for all the ghosts and goblins! Speed limit in Wynona on all streets will be 25 mph.
FLAGS ARE PAID FOR
Della Carter is heading up a campaign to get flags for the poles in Wynona and needed 22 flag sets for $30 each. Between donations and her sale of delicious pies, she got the money needed for the flag sets. We all appreciate Della for doing so much for our town. A few years back, she went around and painted all the street sign poles in Wynona. She does these things for our town because she has such a hometown pride. The next project is a veterans memorial, possibly at the highway park. Let’s all help Della instill pride in our community and residents!
TOWN HALL WILL BE CLOSED FOR
The Wynona Town Hall will be closed Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so Town Clerk Tennie Slone and Town Treasurer Janet Delaney can attend the annual workshops in Stillwater.
